As always the GANNI trail was a joy
“My best ideas come to me in the morning. I put on my headphones, turn up the music, get on my bike and cycle to work,” says Ditte Reffstrup, Creative Director of GANNI. “These 15 minutes belong entirely to me. My mind is open and my thoughts are flowing. This collection is really about that feeling. We called it Joyride because Copenhagen is where our heart is.
Overnight GANNI unveiled Spring/Summer 2023 at Copenhagen Fashion Week. In a collection dedicated to the city and inspired by the energy of summer, Ofelia Plads – a seaside pier overlooking the Danish Opera House and the Royal Palace – served as the backdrop for the colorful collection. As in years past, GANNI has taken on fan-favorite silhouettes such as gathered seams, puff sleeves, baby doll dresses. Tailoring is crisper and sharper with evening wear dotted throughout the collection. Do you remember Kate Moss’ nude dress? She got the #GANNIGirl treatment. The color palette is also more moody than previous seasons. All black looks complement bold leopard, striped and floral prints with pinks, blues and oranges in highlighter tones.
The collection also featured a collaboration with American denim giant Levi’s, a sequel to the hit February 2021 capsule. ruffles. Colored denim has also made a comeback with sun dresses and low-rise jeans. Cowboy boots, plush bags and party clutches complete the looks.
In line with GANNI’s philosophy of becoming the most responsible version of themselves, 97% of the upcoming collection is comprised of responsible styles. This means that at least 50% of the composition is certified organic, low impact or recycled. As part of the brand’s “Fabrics of the Future” innovation hub, they will showcase styles made from textile waste in groundbreaking textile innovation Infinna™ and footwear in Vegea, a material made from the remains of grape skins from wine production.
