Mary J. Blige goes wild in a zebra-print bodysuit for her new tour – Footwear News
Mary J. Blige performed in Chicago for her “Good Morning Gorgeous Tour” at the United Center on September 25. with matching shoes.
The musical entertainer served up a fierce look to her fans in Illinois, her outfit consisting of a rhinestone black and white zebra print bodysuit. The high-necked, long-sleeved silhouette was defined and brought inside using a black boned corset fitted with garters and silver hardware like chains, eyelets and zippers.
The “Family Affair” singer wore lots of bling, including a gold and diamond necklace with a large, flashy pendant. The outfit looks like something fellow performer and famous rapper Nicki Minaj would have worn in 2014, with Blige’s blunt blonde locks furthering this narrative.
Blige danced like a pro, in heels no less, the 51-year-old dressed in knee-length zebra-print boots to match her outfit. The shoes were a loose-fitting style with chunky, cropped black heels that offered Blige more comfort than something much taller and with a more severe arch. It seems the “queen of soul hip-hop” has an affinity for knee-high styles. During her performance at Florida Funk Fest in Orlando, Blige donned gold Paris Texas boots in the same style.
Popularized during the go-go era of the 60s, knee-high boots leave the wearer’s knee exposed, but cover the calves. Often worn with skirts, the style is a smart choice in fall and winter to protect the leg from the elements while still allowing the wearer to show off some leg.
Next on the “Respect” actress’ tour is Birmingham, Alabama. The impressive show will take place until October 29 in Atlantic City New Jersey.
