Retro Chic Season: Celebrating Georgetown’s 50th Flea Market
It’s the season of Retro Chic.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Georgetown Flea Market, our May 2022 cover story features an interview with its founder, Michael Sussman, who started the market in 1973. For half a century, Georgetown residents and visitors all know this is the must visit place to shop and browse outdoors – especially for “Retro Chic” fashions – every Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Hardy Middle School parking lot across from Safeway on Wisconsin Avenue NW.
The Georgetowner also hosted a celebratory fashion shoot with famed photographer @Tony Powell and several stunning models (wearing high-end “Retro Chic” designs by Oscar De La Renta, Veronica Beard and Mercedes Vintage).
